2/365 The road not taken

Salah Salem Traffic Jam

Bey2ollak the road not taken (see the other side of Salah Salem, yes the side am not taking) is always flowing without any congestion (ma3 el i3tezar l Frost).

Speaking of traffic. The drive to and from Downtown is killing me these days. It is fine in the morning, I go out fairly early to avoid the rush, yet in the evening it is inevitable.  ehe2 :( ””

My heart is filled with joy and is about to explode..today’s magnificence lies in the come back of Egypt’s Copts to the streets  following the 9th of October massacre  .

On the 9th of October and shortly after I started following the march, I bbmed a christian friend and told him that now I am confident no one will be able to hijack the revolution…was super excited. Told him Egypt’s Copts are making history here…and bringing the revolution back. Needless to say I couldn’t open my mouth post the atrocious ending of the day.

But today, a march organized by the Cathedral From El Abbaseya Cathedral to Tahrir Square in memory of the Maspero Massacre Martyrs…hope renewed.

Martyrs photos, Chants, Priests leading..and singing the national anthem. A come back that has been described as the “ the most organised march I’ve ever been on. Quite beautiful”  I have the confidence, courage, and audacity to say الثورة مستمرة

A Tale of a Great Nation

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope.”

“The fact that religions, which usually have at their core a promotion of tolerance and peace, have been exploited to carry out violence clearly indicates that individuals and groups have not discovered the true “peace message” that is inherent in almost every religion.    (by Cilliers, Ch. 3, p. 55)”

My heart goes to…

All those who have lost their loved ones in this vicious incident…all those who have been injured.
And to Egypt who wept her night away.

The World Cup Qualifiers Nighmare

Following the anticipated game between Egypt and Algeria in the world cup qualifiers, and instead of celebrating their victory.  Algerians decided to go bananas on Egyptians, and destroyed the buses used by the Egyptian supporters.  They have swords, knives, and beating the hell out of them.

http://www.youm7.com/News.asp?NewsID=157876

I am watching the TV and crying my heart out, listening to the Egyptians calling for rescue.

the current situation is: Egyptians in Khartoum are calling for rescue; they are either trying to sneak out, injured, or trapped somewhere!!!! this is turning into a nightmare.

Volunteers Needed

down at “Ard el Ma3ared”…to help in segregating and packing donated stuff.  “Everyday, anytime from 10 am – 10 pm”.  My personal advice is don’t go early “as in 10 sharp”….try to make it a bit late…around 12 wala 7aga. I’ve been there and they were recieving donations but the door wasn’t opened yet.  If you managed to find an hour or two…please give a hand to the guys and gals there…

May I have your attention please!!

Ok…Just got the word

The Lebanese Embassy agreed to sponsor the T-shirts initiative. I.e. to print the T-shirts in the name of the Embassy and to give us permits to collect the money in the name of the embassy. The money will then go to the Relief  Fund that the Lebanese government and the Local and International NGOs have established in Lebanon”.  So…friends and readers let me know if you are interested in getting one…the price is 30L.E. for a T-shirt.
